Abstract
Pismo kao način komunikacije zauvijek je promijenilo tijek ljudske povijesti. Razvoj pismovnih sustava odvijao se usporedno sa promjenama u društvu kako bi se omogućila što je moguće brža i jednostavnija komunikacija. No zapisana informacija svoje značenje dobiva tek interpretacijom primatelja poruke, a tu ključnu ulogu ima tipografija kao umjetnost oblikovanja pisma i teksta koja neupitno utječe na ljusku percepciju i interpretaciju poruke. Kroz povijest mnogi tipografi i dizajneri osvrnuli su se na ovaj problem, i radili na povećavanju ekspresivnost tipografije jer kvalitetno tipografsko oblikovanje primatelju poruke osigurava fokus na ključnu ideju komunikacije. U tu svrhu provedena su istraživanja konotativnog značenja tipografskih formi te je ustanovljeno da tipografske forme reflektiraju kulturne i tehnološke prilike te se stoga sekundarno značenje tipografije stalno nadograđuje i mjenja.
Abstract (english)
The invention of writing is nonetheless one of the greatest inventions that changed the history of humanity. Development of writing systems occurred in line with society changes, always searching for faster and simpler forms of written communication. True meaning of written information comes with the message interpretation, and typography has great effect on human perception and interpretation of message. Many typographers and designers worked on this issue because good typography helps reader to maintenance focus on the key idea of communication. There are many researches that proves that typography reflects technology and cultural occasions and that is way the personality that typography conveys is constantly developing.
