Abstract

Razvojem novih digitalnih tehnologija normalno je i da se promjenio pristup grafičkom dizajnu u odnosu na pred digitalno doba. Osnovna pravila ostala su ista, ali su se tehnike izrade promjenile. Digitalna ilustracija je oblik ilustracije kod kojeg se korištenje tradicionalnih slikarskih ili crtačih alata zamjenjuje korištenjem digitalnih tehnika. Taj oblik ilustracije se sve češće koristi u komercijalne svrhe, odnosno u grafičkom dizajnu. Osim komercijalne upotrebe na temeljima digitalne ilustracije također se razvio novi oblik umjetnosti koji se naziva digital art odnosno digitalna umjetnost. Na internetu postoji cjela scena digitalne umjetnosti. Na taj način moguće je lakše međusobno povezivanje i suradnja umjetnika, ali također i jednostavnija promocija vlastitih radova. U ovom radu prikazan je proces izrade digitalne ilustracije za omot glazbenog CD-a. Takav proces može biti adekvatna zamjena tradicionalnim tehnikama koje su se do nedavno koristile, dapače čak je moguće postići i veću kvalitetu ilustracije nego što je to slučaj kod tradicionalnih tehnika.

Abstract (english)

It is normal that approach to graphic design has changed with development of new digital technologies. The basic rules remains the same, but used techniques has changed. Digital illustration is a form of illustration where digital techniques are replacing usage of traditional painting or drawing tools. This form of illustration is increasingly used for commercial purposes or in graphic design. In addition to commercial use of digital illustrations, it is also developed a new form of art called digital art. There is the whole digital art scene existing on the internet.That way interconnection and collaboration between artists is much easier, but it is also easier for artists to promote their own artworks. In this paper is shown process of creating digital artwork for the cover of music CD. Such a process can be an adequate substitute traditional techniques that have been used until recently, in fact it is even possible to achieve a higher quality of the illustrations than is the case with traditional techniques.
