Abstract | Potrebna je određena doza napora, kreativnosti i planiranja da bi se izradio omot glazbenog albuma, koji će korisniku uspješno poslati vizualnu poruku, mameći ga na kupnju glazbenog albuma. Ali ne samo to - dobar dizajn i nije nužno uvjet, već bitna vrlina albumskog omota. Cilj je osmisliti i ostvariti idejno rješenje na način da već unaprijed odgovara stilu glazbe koji se nalazi na albumu, a samim time i ciljanoj skupini. U tom slučaju je emocionalna funkcija znaka uspješno iskorištena, ona stvara ugodnu, željenu komunikaciju s publikom, šarmira i osvaja korisnika, te napokon pridonosi razvitku glazbene industrije.
U diplomskom radu razrađene su teme dizajna omota glazbenog albuma kao polja grafičkog dizajna, ali i kao pojma koji je prisutan još s početka 20. stoljeća. Spomenuta je problematika sklonosti današnjeg društva digitalizaciji glazbene industrije, što šteti razvitku ove dizajnerske grane. Ovdje se cilja na mlad, žestok, sve više popularan stil glazbe: metal. Postavlja se pitanje: kakav dizajn omota glazbenih albuma koristiti s obzirom na koji od brojnih metal podstilova? Odgovor će se pronaći u trinaest primjera dizajniranih glazbenih omota, od svake vrste metal glazbe po jedan, te osvrte na svaki od njih. |
Abstract (english) | A certain dose of effort, creativity and planning is needed, for making of an album cover, which plays his role of successfully sending off a visual message, to attract an user to buy a music CD. But not only that - design of high quality is not a necessary requirement, but it is more a virtue of an album cover. A goal is to come up with and realize a notional result that in advance suits music genre of the record, thus to target group as well. In that case, an emotional function of the symbol is efficiently used, it creates pleasant, wanted communication with the audience, by charming and conquering the user, and finally encouraging a development of the music industry.
In this graduate work, the cover design themes as a field of graphic design have been elaborated, but also as a term which is present from the beginning of the 20th century. Issues about today’s society’s affinity towards digitalization of the music industry, which is damaging this design field, are mentioned. Here, the targets is a young, severe, more and more popular music genre: metal. A question is asked: what kind of an album cover should be used, considering any of the metal subgenres? An answer will be found in the thirteen examples of designed CD covers, one for each metal subgenre, but also the reviews of it. |
