Abstract

U ovom diplomskom radu predstavljeni su video formati koji se trenutno najviše koriste za web. Zbog brzog rasta kvalitete video zapisa potrebno je sažeti video sadržaj, da bi se omogućio brži i lakši prikaz bilogdje putem Interneta.

Teorijski dio rada opisuje osnovne pojmove koji se koriste u video tehnologiji kako bi se što jasnije shvatila tematika koja se obrađuje u samom radu. Pod osnovnim pojmovima podrazumijeva se sve relevantno što se koristi u obradi video materijala te na koji način funkcionira sama reprodukcija. Težište diplomskog rada se odnosi na kompresiju koja je bit cijele priče o video formatima. Posebna pozornost obraćena je na novi format otvorenog koda WebM koji je uzet kao osnova na temelju koje će se vršiti usporedba s ostalim formatima. Eksperimentalni dio je sastavljen od dva dijela; tehničke usporedbe video formata i vizualne usporedbe. Tehnički dio se odnosi na ispitivanje vremena enkodiranja kod određene brzine prijenosa bitova (bitrate), te koliko procesor uzima snage za kompresiju. Kao uzorci za ispitivanje korištene su tri videosekvence animacija, amaterski i profesionalni video isječak.

Vizualna usporedba video formata odnosila se na subjektivnu metodu, odnosno, ocjenjivanje kvalitete na temelju procjene pojedinaca. Nakon ispitivanja rezultati su prikazani slikama, grafikonima i tablicama te je uz svako od navedenih napisano objašnjenje.

Abstract (english)

This graduate work provides the video formats which are currently mainly used for the web. Due to the rapid quality growth of the video, it is necessary to shrink video content to allow faster and easier access anywhere via the Internet.

The theoretical part of this work describes basic terms used for video technology in order to understand the technical part. Basic terms imply everything relevant that is used for processing and playing video material. The thesis of this work is about the compression of video formats. WebM is a new open source format, which is taken as the basis upon which a comparison will be made with other formats. The experimental part is composed of two parts; technical and visual comparison of video formats. The technical part is aimed at time encoding at a certain bitrate, and amount of processor power taken for that process. Used specimens are three video sequences: animation, amateur and professional video clip. Visual comparison of video formats was performed with subjective method, it's an assessment of quality based on the evaluation of individuals. Results are shown through images, charts and tables, which are followed by description.
