Abstract

Sportska fotografija razvijala se kroz povijest kao grana novinske fotografije.

Fotoreporteri su dokumentirali važne sportske događaje u svrhu informiranja javnosti.

Razvojem alternativnih ekstremnih sportova i subkultura nastaje nova vrsta sportske

fotografije koja čiji korijeni potječu iz dokumentarne fotografije prateći životni stil

sportaša. Razvojem interesa za akcijskim sportovima razvija se potreba za

specijaliziranim profesionalnim fotografima koji će dokumentirati i prenositi

alternativne oblike sporta široj javnosti. Ovaj rad započinje teorijskim dijelom koji

obuhvaća razvoj akcijske sportske fotografije, pregled postojećih tehnologija

fotografske opreme, programske podrške, obrade i slanja fotografija te opisom različitih

tehnika fotografiranja sporta. Eksperimentalni dio pratiti fotografski projekt od ideje do

realizacije koji se osniva na iskustvu autora u sportskoj industriji popraćeno s

intervjuima poznatih sportskih fotografa. Opisan je svaki korak od izviđanja lokacija,

dobivanja dozvola, rada sa sportašem, korištenje opreme na terenu do obrade fotografija

i priprema za slanje na multimedijalni sustav za distribuciju. Sam rad završen prikazom

autorskih fotografija napravljenih u sklopu projekta.

Abstract (english)

Sports photography has evolved through history as a branch in newspaper

photography. Photographers documented important sports events for public information

purposes. With the development of alternative extreme sports and its subculture, a new

kind of sport photography was born, that draws roots from documentary photography,

following an athlete's lifestyle. The rise in popularity of action sports developed the

need for specialised professional photographers to document and share alternative forms

of sport to the general public. This thesis begins with a theoretical part that includes the

development of action sports photography, an overview of existing photographic

equipment, software support, postprocessing/photo delivery, and a description of

various sports photography techniques. The experimental part is followed by a

photographic project from a rough idea to a actual project based on author's experience

in the sports industry accompanied by interviews of famous sports photographers. Each

step will be described, from location scouting, obtaining licenses, working with an

athlete, using photo equipment in the field, processing photographs, and preparing for

delivery trough a multimedia distribution system. The thesis itself is finished by

displaying the authors photographs that were made as a part of the project.
