Abstract

Portretna fotografija način je zamrzavanja trenutka u kojem se nalazi osoba

odnosno model. Sposobna je prenijeti emocije, pokret i atmosferu te samim time

gledatelju portreta dočarati trenutak u kojem se nalazio model ali i fotograf. Zbog

desetljeća razvijanja fotografskih tehnologija, razvile su se i razne metode fotografiranja

portreta. S obzirom na to da je fotografija popularizirana upravo preko portreta, jasno je

da ima bezbroj metoda fotografiranja. Portret je u povijesti služio kao alat pomoću kojeg

je uhvaćena duša modela što je ostao cilj i svakog suvremenog fotografa. Do današnjeg

doba razvijene su, usavršene i patentirane tehnike fotografiranja portreta koje otvaraju

bezbroj mogućnosti i kreativnih rješenja kako bi se postigao jedinstveni rezultat. Kako

bi se sumirala povijest i sadašnjost portretne fotografije, ovaj diplomski rad istražit će

razne tehnike i obradu portreta korištenjem širokog spektra opreme i rekvizita te ih

primijeniti na vlastitim primjerima koristeći istog modela kako bi se kroz seriju

fotografija prikazalo kako jedan model može prenijeti razne informacije te koliko ga

drugačije tehnike mogu transformirati. Također, bit će analizirani i svjetski portretni

fotografi i njihovi stilovi kako bi se ukazalo na važnost razvijanja vlastitog načina

izražavanja. Cilj rada je stvoriti seriju potpuno različitih fotografija ali paralelno zadržati

kohezivni izgled koji proizlazi iz vlastitog stilskog izražaja. Obrada fotografija neće

služiti za manipulaciju fizičkog izgleda modela u smislu 'beauty editinga' već kao alat

koji će pomoći da svaka fotografija bude svoje jedinstveno djelo s jasnom porukom i

očitim naglaskom na analiziranu tehniku koja će se primijeniti na određeni portret.

Abstract (english)

Portrait photography is a method of freezing the moment in which the person or

model exists. It is able to convey emotions, movement and atmosphere, and thus evoke

the moment in which the model and the photographer were. Due to decades of developing

photographic technologies, various methods of portrait photography have also been

developed. Given that photography is popularized precisely through portraiture, it is clear

that there are countless methods of photography. In history, the portrait has served as a

tool to capture the soul of the model, which has remained the goal of every modern

photographer. To date, portrait photography techniques have been developed, perfected

and patented that open up countless possibilities and creative solutions to achieve a unique

result. In order to summarize the history and present of portrait photography, this thesis

will explore various techniques and processing of portraits using a wide range of

equipment and props and apply them to their own examples using the same model,

showing through a series of photographs how one model can convey various information

and how much it can be transformed through different techniques. Furthermore, world

portrait photographers and their styles will be analyzed to point out the importance of

developing a unique way of expressing yourself. The aim of the work is to create a series

of completely different photographs but at the same time keep the cohesive look that

arises from one's own stylistic expression. Photo processing will not serve to manipulate

the physical appearance of the model in terms of 'beauty editing' but as a tool to help

make each photo its unique work with a clear message and an obvious emphasis on the

analyzed technique to be applied to a particular portrait.
