Abstract

Diplomski rad se bavi tehnikom animacije rotoskopijom u kojoj animatori precrtavaju
preko prethodno snimljenog videouratka, raščlanjenog na kadrove, odnosno fotografije
kako bi dobili dosljedan i realističan prikaz pokreta. Originalno se za tehniku rotoskopije
koristio uređaj rotoskop kojeg je razvio Max Fleischer, no taj uređaj je danas zamijenjen
računalima i digitalnim programima, stoga je tehnika postala manje vremenski zahtjevna.
Stil animacije tehnikom rotoskopije ne mora biti nužno realističan što se može vidjeti u
nekim novijim primjerima rađenim tom tehnikom. Rad će se osvrnuti na samu povijest
tehnike te kratku analizu, obrazloženja starih primjera i nekih novijih ostvarenja. U
praktičnom dijelu će se digitalnom tehnikom pomoću grafičkog tableta osjetljivog na
pritisak, te dva softverska programa Adobe After Effects i Adobe Photoshop izvesti serija
videa različitih domaćih životinja za animiranu slikovnicu namjenjenu djeci. Kako bi
dobili iluziju fluidnog pokreta, prikazivati će se 24 sličice po sekundi svake animacije,
koristiti će se posebni kistovi, teksture i vedre boje kako bi krajnji rezultat bio zanimljiv
i privlačan ciljanoj skupini.

Abstract (english)

The final thesis deals with the technique of rotoscoping animation, in which animators
redraw over a previously recorded video, broken down into frames, that is, photographs,
in order to obtain a consistent and realistic representation of movement. Originally, a
rotoscope device developed by Max Fleischer was used for the rotoscopy technique, but
that device has been replaced today by computers and digital programs, so the technique
has become less time-consuming. The style of rotoscoping animation does not necessarily
have to be realistic, which can be seen in some recent examples made with this technique.
This paper will refer to the very history of the technique and a short analysis, explanations
of old examples and some recent achievements. In the practical part, a series of videos of
different domestic animals for an animated picture book intended for children will be
made using digital techniques using a pressure-sensitive graphics tablet and two software
programs, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop. In order to get the illusion of fluid
movement, 24 frames per second of each animation will be shown, special brushes,
textures and bright colors will be used to make the end result interesting and attractive to
the target group.
