Abstract

U ovom diplomskom radu pod nazivom “Vizualni identitet tiskanih medija-magazina” prikazao sam neke od aspekata s kojima se dizajner mora suočiti prilikom dizajniranja magazina počevši od načina na koji je magazin uvezan i distribuiran, zatim ovisnosti od informacija koje se nalaze na naslovnici, te postavljanja stukture navigacijskih sustava pa sve do načina kako koristiti fotografi je i tretirati tekst. Različitost tih elemenata sugerira osnovni izazov s kojim se dizajner mora suočiti a to je da njegov rad, njegov dizajn mora istovremeno obavljati više funkcija. Magazin mora utjecati na čitatelje svojom estetikom a da ipak ne ugrožava čitljivost; okviri dizajna moraju biti dovoljno širokog raspona kako bi se suočili sa sadržajem svake vrste a ipak dovoljno prepoznatljivi kao cjelina jednog magazina; stranice magazina moraju se preklapati sa oglasnim stranicama bez da ih one zasjene; razni elementi poput informacije o datumu i cijeni i sl. moraju biti lako dostupne a opet neuočljive... U diplomskom radu dan je prikaz mnogih magazina kao primjer na koje su se sve načine dizajneri, uključujući i mene osobno, domišljato suočili s ovim problemima u odnosu na okolnosti u kojima su se nalazili.

Abstract (english)

This graduation work its name “Visual identity of print media-magazines” look at some of the aspects of editorial design that an designer must contend with, from the way the magazine is bound and dispatched, to the information carried on the over, the structuring of navigational systems, the use of images and the treatment of text. The diversity of issues demonstrates the central challenge of magazine design: that the designer's work must do several jobs at once. The magazine must appeal to readers on an aesthetic level, but must be readable; the design framework should be fl exible enough to cope with content of all sorts, yet distinctive enough to be indentifi able as the property of a particular title; the editorial pages must coexist with advertising, without being overshadowed by it; large amounts of information, such as issue dates, price, must bepresented in easy-to-use formats, while remaining relatively unobtrusive. This graduation work shows a large number of magazines as examples of the ways in which designers have succesfully tackled these problems according to the circumstances in which they fi nd themselves.
