... More priprema u kojoj se određuje tehnologija i tehnika izrade grafičkog proizvoda treba stvoriti uvjete za normalno odvijanje proizvodnje. Grafička priprema je tijekom posljednjih 20 godina drastično evoluirala. Mnogi procesi su automatizirani, poslovi nestali i terminologija se promijenila. Mnogi se proizvodni procesi tiska danas odvijaju u multimedijskom okruženju. Razmatrajući riječi multimedija, može se vidjeti da postoje dva elementa; "multi", što znači da ima više od jednog oblika, i "mediji", što je izraz okruženja u kojem se informacije prenose. Jednostavno rečeno, radi se o informacijskom okruženju koje nastaje kombiniranjem teksta, zvuka i grafike u digitalnom obliku. Vještine za korištenje informacijskih tehnologija uključuju one vezane uz uporabu tehnologije u traženju, pronalaženju, obradi, predstavljanju i vrednovanju informacija. U tom okviru na važnosti dobiva djelotvorno i učinkovito korištenje informacijskih i komunikacijskih tehnologija u skladu s ciljevima. Štoviše, velika važnost se daje korištenju informacijskih tehnologija u svim segmentima kako bi se razvile vještine kao i radovi koji će se provoditi. Pojava računalnog doba i digitalne tehnologije znatno je izmijenila grafički proces. Grafička priprema, koja pokriva sve korake prije samog tiska, može se sada raditi na osobnim računalima, od uređivanja dizajna stranice do izrade tiskovnih ploča. Tekst složen na računalima, a fotografije snimljene digitalnim fotoaparatima uređuju se i toniraju u Photoshopu. Grafika su stvara digitalno, a probni otisci se izrađuju na digitalnim pisačima. Ispisne ploče mogu biti izrađene od filma proizvedenog izravno iz digitalne datoteke u procesu koji se zove computer to film, ali čak se i taj napredak zamjenjuje izravnijim computer to plate procesom. I samim tiskarskim strojevima se upravlja preko računalnih naredbi. Ispravna montaža stranica smanjuje vrijeme ispisivanja, povećava broj stranica po otisku te smanjuje troškove materijala i vrijeme tiska. Da bi se to postiglo arak koji se tiska mora biti iskorišten što je više moguće. Ovisno o dimenzijama i tiskovnoj orijentaciji papira koji prolazi kroz stroj određuje se veličina i izvedba montažnog rasporeda. Preps softver je alat pripreme za tisak koji se koristi za stvaranje provjere izgleda stranica za montažu rada koji se uvezuje i organizaciju araka. U interaktivnom radnom okruženju mogu se koristiti pohranjeni predlošci za proizvod koji se često ponavlja i izvršiti ispis na uobičajene formate datoteka. During the last 20 years the graphic preparation operations has drastically evolved. Many processes are automated, jobs have disappeared and the terminology has changed. Many of the today's printing production processes take place in the multimedia environment. Examining the word multimedia, it can be seen that there are two elements there; "multi", which means that there is more than one form, and "the media", the term for the environment in which information is transmitted. In simple terms, it is the information environment that results by combining text, sound and graphics in digital form.
The skills for the use of information technologies include those related to the use of technology in seeking, finding, processing, presentation and evaluation of information. In this context effective and efficient use of the "information and communication technologies" according to the objectives is gaining in importance. Moreover, great importance is given to the use of information technology in all aspects in order to develop the skills and works that will be carried out. The appearance of the computer age and the digital technology has significantly changed the graphic process. Graphic preparation, that covers all steps before printing itself, can now be done on personal computers, from editing a page layout to the making of printing plates. Text compounded on computers and photographs taken with digital cameras are being edited and toned in Photoshop. Graphics is created digitally, and printing proofs are made on digital printers. Printing plates can be made from films produced directly from digital files in a process called computer to film, but even this progress is replaced by more direct computer to plate process. Even the printing machines are controlled by computer commands. Correct imposition of pages reduces printing time, increasing the number of pages per sheet, reduces the costs of materials and time of printing. To achieve this, the press sheet must be used as much as possible. The size and design of the imposition layout are determined depending on the size and orientation of paper that passes through the machine. The Preps software is a prepress tool used to create press-run layouts for bound-work impositions and ganged flat work. In an interactive workspace, stored templates can be used for frequently repeated layouts, and print the production output to common file formats.
